PITVUALT Link · $49 one-time

Codes in the pits.
Not on the track.

A small OBD-II plug-in that reads trouble codes in plain English and grabs a quick engine snapshot between heats. It follows the track’s rules, and when we don’t know the rule, it stays in pits-only mode.

PITVUALT Link screen: three pairing steps and a Scan button, then a last snapshot of battery 12.6 volts, coolant 192°F, idle 780 RPM and 41.2 engine hours, and trouble code P0171 system too lean

What it does

Reads trouble codes

“P0171 System too lean (Bank 1)” — plus what it usually means and where to look first.

Pit snapshot

Battery voltage, coolant temp, idle RPM and engine hours, saved with that race day’s setup.

Logs where legal

Downloads logs only at tracks where logging is allowed. Unknown means pits-only.

Honest about the rules

Every track gets a device rule.

A lot of bomber and street stock rulebooks say no on-board recording devices. We built around that instead of pretending it isn’t there.

  • Logging OKThe track has told us logging is allowed for your class. The device can log and you can download it after.
  • Pits onlyCodes and snapshots in the pits only. Logging stays off. The app shows an amber banner so nobody forgets.
  • UnknownWe treat it exactly like pits-only until the track confirms.
  • Check your class rules; the tech official decides. If in doubt, unplug it before you roll out.

Device FAQ

Before you plug in.

Is this live telemetry?
No. PITVUALT Link is a pit tool. It does not stream data to anyone during a race, and the app doesn’t show live data while you’re on track.
Will it get me in trouble at tech?
Many classes ban on-board recording devices (a tachometer is usually fine). That’s why every track has a device rule in the app, and why the default is pits-only. If your class bans any device in the car during competition, unplug it before you roll out. Check your class rules; the tech official decides.
What cars does it work with?
Cars with a working OBD-II port — generally 1996 and newer, plus older cars that have been converted. Most carbureted bombers and older street stocks have no OBD port, so the device won’t help there; the rest of the app still does.
Do I need Pro?
Yes, Pro or Crew. The device is $49 one-time, and the app unlocks it on Pro or Crew. Crew includes one device.
Is it safe to leave plugged in?
It draws very little power, but like any OBD plug-in it can drain a weak battery over days. Unplug it if the car sits between races.

PITVUALT Link is a diagnostic aid. It doesn’t replace a mechanic, doesn’t certify your car, and plain-English code explanations are general guidance. Device screen is a capture of the demo build with sample data; final hardware may differ.

Get it with Crew.

Crew includes one PITVUALT Link. Or buy one for $49 and pair it with Pro.
